I have an interview today - my second with the same company - and so I'm feeling like a strong, independent woman and thought I'd put the pen to paper whilst feeling invincible.
Just coming off an excellent weekend, one that makes me appreciate a) London, b) being married, and c) being 30-something and childless. Hosted book club, watched a war documentary on a Saturday night, had tea with the in-laws during the break of England's big rugby win. Slept quite a bit. Ate some whatever's-in-the-fridge meals. Ate dim sum and bought records in Camden. Started a new book. Another 10/10; would do again.

And here are a few things I'm enjoying over here that you, too, might enjoy!
- A great podcast - The Dropout is about supposed Silicon Valley superstar Elizabeth Holmes and her company Theranos. More interesting than the company is her: she wore only black turtlenecks (à la Steve Jobs), lowered her voice, and took a two-generations-older lover.
- A great list - Life advice from an 80 y/o is a MUST read. There are tons of these kinds of lists floating around, but this one is so excellent.
- A useful blog - When I Have Time sucked me in for an entire afternoon. Start with this.
- A way to healthfully process - Cognitive journaling seems to work for people I know and respect, so I am giving it a try.
- A laugh - This video is solid gold, baby.
I have this idea of dedicating a few blog posts to asking people around me questions that are valuable to anyone (i.e., What's is something money can buy that has genuinely changed your life? What's one piece of advise someone's given you that you actually, truly, think back to?). Should I? Want to be interviewed? Have any pressing questions? Can you invent something that helps me remember to drink my coffee before it gets cold?
So much to contemplate in this post! Yes, love your idea of interviewing people with questions valuable to anyone. Sounds kind of like an ice-breaker game my friend Maryellen and I used to do in our early 20s while out at the bars, only the question I liked to ask was "Have you ever seen a ghost?" I got some seriously amazing answers that one!
ReplyDeleteGenius!! Adding that to my list, White Tiger.
DeleteWhit and I caught up to episode 4 on The Dropout this weekend. We both are fascinated! Thanks for the great recommendation.
