Isolation: Days 1-3
Having just returned from the US, we've commenced our 14-day isolation period.
For quick reacclimation, I ate crumpets with butter and Bovril and listened to a Princess Diana podcast while looking online to see if you can rent treadmills or Peletons by the week. I can already feel my muscles atrophying. Yesterday, my phone registered a grand total of 140 steps.
The weather has met every stereotype - gloomy and rainy and windy and cold - so leaving the house hasn't even been appealing. We did manage to snag one of the coveted Waitrose grocery delivery slots, and we didn't even have to sacrifice an animal for it. In case you're interested (you really shouldn't be), we're having this tonight after we tackle something from the "tediuos chores we've been sitting on forever" list (dust plants, go through "tiny piles" we've accumulated, etc.).
How was the US, you may be wondering? Did I go to Target? (Yes, long live my only-in-the-US facewash and pajama/pyjama sets.) Or Trader Joe's? (Tried, line was too long.)
The US was glorious depite looking like a real nightmare from the outside. We were in ATL so we soaked up the last of the summer sun, ate Mexican a few times, celebrated my birthday, danced away at Melly's wedding (the most beautiful bride!), and, best of all, saw a ton of friends. Never change, American South. Except do, in the obvious ways.
