Blast from the past
Many moons ago, I had a "thriving" blog called "Buckle Your Seatbelts" that received over 250 hits a post. For reference, this one gets about 11 views a post. I was looking at the back end of BYS and realized I had a 2014 post from my trip to China I never actually published, likely because I was in the grip of a stretch of irrational anxiety and feared the Chinese government retaliating against anyone who posted pics of Beijing's horrific pollution on their "thriving" blog. Seriously, that kind of stuff used to keep me up at night.
Anyway, I published it, so you can read it here and then go down the wormhole of reading BYS in its entirety - starting with when I spent a summer in London 12 years ago!? There's a lot of cringe-worthy stuff on there (who was I trying to be?), like this post about going a bit more green (look at me, on it a decade early), where my brother pointed out the kind-looking hippy pictured is really Weed Jesus.
My very first post ever was about trying on skinny jeans and is a real fun look back at 2008, when we weren't yet spending the GDP of a small country on denim that literally requires you to shimmy into it and still used paper maps.
