We're all grown ups

Oh, me? Just about half-way through my tenth book of the year - what have you done, you losers with jobs and families to raise? On that note, I do have an interview this afternoon (mixture of happy ($/£) and sad (book emoji) faces). It will probably be good to get more structure to my day, as it's only a matter of time before Jamie uses this laptop and notices my search history contains more "bieber sorry dance instructional video" hits than hiring boards.

But back to the books, I've really enjoyed just about everything so thought I'd list them (link-free because we're all grown ups and can use a search function/navigate Amazon):

  • This is Going to Hurt: Secret Diaries of a Junior Doctor Adam Kay
  • The Immortalists Chloe Benjamin
  • Mother Night Kurt Vonnegut
  • Small Fry Lisa Brennan-Jobs
  • Becoming Michelle Obama
  • Severance Ling Ma
  • Less Andrew Sean Greer
  • Killers of the Flower Moon: The Osage Murders and the Birth of the FBI David Grann
  • A Gentleman in Moscow Amor Towles
After typing out that list, I have to say that I've really, really enjoyed what I've read this year. Vonnegut (another Hoosier!) is a book club pick and ended up being great and now I'm disappointed it took me so long to get started on his stuff.

Currently reading: A Place for Us (Fatima Farheen Mirza)
Up next: Catch 22 (Joseph Heller)

We ended up not seeing any movies this past weekend as the weather was cold and rainy and generally terrible (turns out I live in London in January) and so we vouched to stay in and have Indian from Marks & Spencer and watch Paddington. We did go here to eat one night, in case tasting menus interest you.

I would REALLY love it if some of you fools came to visit.
