Schnitzel and strudel
Hellllllo. It has been...some time. Biggest update here is that I’m officially a working woman! I started my new job on Monday, and so far, employment has been glorious. The office is great, buzzing and airy. The people are smart and funny. The work is interesting. And the location (Soho) is straight dope. Commuting is an adjustment – not because it’s long, but because I can’t seem to traverse the trains/tube system and arrive at the office without looking like I just finished a workout. But I’m slowly working out the least sweaty routes, and today, I had a conversation with a stranger on the tube. That’s unheard of in London!
In other news, we spent a long weekend in Vienna and Budapest right before I started and it was just like a Julie Andrews musical – schnitzel and strudel and my favorite thing, the communist statue park. The trip was originally to celebrate the 10 year anniversary of the day a certain JCG and a young, hot, magnetic KBK met in the urine-infused waters of a Las Vegas lazy river, but I got the job offer the day before we left so we were also able to toast to that a few times. I’ll throw in a few pics at the end of this.
We’re heading into a warm and sunny weekend, which means lots of time outside, and then I fly to NYC for a week on Sunday (work, not play), which means I should do laundry.
Other highlights:
- There’s a possibility I could win the combined King/Garratt March Madness bracket challenge! Speaking of, did you know it’s vasectomy season?
- Cubs won their season opener.
- We’re eating here tomorrow night.
- Have you heard of Fleabag? Both J and I are obsessed.
Have a groovy weekend.
