BLTs and time zones

Hey, you!

I had a fab few days of work in Bogota, then I spent a week in NYC with my team. Then I came back to London and haven't left the city limits for 1.5 glorious weeks. And that brings us to now - we leave for a long weekend in Cornwall tomorrow night. We'll get back early next week, then I'll start a three-week stretch of trips to France. Ima hustler, baby.

Cornwall is a compromise. Our first anniversary is coming up and while we wanted to do a little celebrating somewhere fun, I didn't want to get on another plane. So in the end, Jamie gets to drive a rented Mercedes to the sea and he doesn't hate it. We're downloading a few David Sedaris audiobooks for the road and ambitiously taking lots of games and books that, in all honesty, we'll probably be too lazy to tackle.

Some of the things floating around my head:

  • All I could think about yesterday was a BLT with standard, cheap white bread and mayo - you know the kind. Made one for dinner and it was BETTER than I imagined it would be. I'm thinking grilled cheese next.
  • I've committed to this idea that I hate everything in my closet but at the same time don't really want anything new - what I WANT is to wear the same pair of jeans and a standard white men's T and trainers every day. What do I do.

  • Reading this for book club (my pick this month!) and did you know: Russia has 11 time zones?! To be honest, with that going on, the fact that they've made any advancements as a nation is impressive.
  • Thanks to my mom, who took my strong hint and sent me this after my last post. But TWIST! Tonight we're going to the author's restaurant instead of using the cookbook.
  • I've been thinking about what makes me really, truly happy and I may have forgotten. I think I like creating things (sewing, handwriting, etc.) and having late, spontaneous nights with my best friends where we talk to strangers but I don't do any of those things anymore, ever. I like math problems?
I promise I'll post pics from Cornwall.
